The Scheepjes Nakid Series includes six different yarns in three undyed fibre blends. Aimed at hand dyers, it is equally suitable for those who love to knit and crochet with natural shades. The attractive appearance of the yarns will vary slightly due to the natural fibre composition.
Alpaca / Wool
The first fibre blend is an Alpaca/Wool mix (20% Alpaca, 80% Wool), which comes in two weights, Undyed Alpaca Blend DK Weight and Undyed Alpaca Blend Chunky. Warm and very soft, it’s suitable for garments and accessories such as hats and scarves.

Basolan Wool
The second fibre is 100% Basolan Wool (see below). There are three different weights: Undyed Pure Wool Sport, Undyed Pure Wool DK Weight, and Undyed Pure Wool Fingering. They are perfect for knitting and crocheting garments, homewares and shawls.
About Basolan Wool
This treatment process makes the wool shrink resistant and enables dye to penetrate the fibres deeper, producing a more intense depth and brightness of colour. Hand dyers can achieve vibrant results with minimal shrinkage.

The recommended care for the five Alpaca Blend and Pure Wool yarns is to hand wash and dry flat.
Sock Yarn
The range also includes Undyed Sock Yarn (75% Superwash Wool, 25% Nylon). Breathable and warm due to the natural properties of wool, it also has the resilience and easy-care qualities that result from the addition of nylon. It is machine- washable, so makes a practical choice for socks. The yarn is also suitable for other projects such as shawls and garments.
