For anyone wanting to knit their very first garment, how about the Lazy Sunday Chunky Cardigan? Designed by Simy’s Studio with newer knitters in mind, the pattern would also suit experienced crafters preferring designs where they can quickly establish a familiar rhythm. The front, back and sleeves are knitted flat in stocking stitch, with a 2 x 2 rib for the cuffs, hem and band.

This relaxed fit cardigan fits sizes XS through to XL and can be knitted in a choice of yarns. Choose either affordable favourite Scheepjes Chunky Monkey or Truly Scrumptious, made with recycled plastic bottles. Whatever you go for, both yarns will embrace you with softness, creating a garment perfect for weekend comfort and casual style.

1080 Pearl Pink x 8 (9: 11) balls

Alternative yarn option: Scheepjes Truly Scrumptious (50% Recycled Polyester, 50% Acrylic; 100g/116m)

307 Raspberry Mousse x 8 (9: 11) balls

• 5mm and 6mm knitting needles
• 5mm circular knitting needles, 120cm long (for Front Band section)
