Beatrix Blanket MAL
Join Scheepjes for an exciting new MAL, taking place from 1st - 22nd June 2022 and together we’ll crochet the striking Beatrix Blanket by Jellina Verhoeff! The design features damask motifs and rich graduated colour and was inspired by the Beata Beatrix, a painting by Pre-Raphaelite artist Rosetti. It’s the perfect project for intermediate crafters looking to develop or refresh skills in tapestry crochet and experiment with gradient colour effects. The original colourway is made with Whirl and Whirlettes and an additional yarn combination using Scheepjes Our Tribe and Metropolis has been created especially for this MAL. You’ll find the pattern in Yarn Bookazine 12 - Romance, alongside 16 other gorgeous knit and crochet patterns.
The MAL will be hosted in the International and Dutch Official Scheepjes Facebook Groups. Alongside helpful weekly tips posted to Jellina's blog, you can access expertise from the designer and ongoing support from the mods and admins within the groups. The wonderful international Scheepjes Community are of course also on hand, ready to offer friendly advice and mutual encouragement!
About the Make-A-Long
The Beatrix Blanket MAL is perfect for intermediate crafters looking to develop or refresh skills in tapestry crochet and create unique colour effects. Participants choosing the original version will crochet the blanket background using the inner strand of one Whirl cake, and the motifs with the outer strand of a second. In Jellina’sfirst blog post on 10 May, she will explain how the colour effects on the exciting new Our Tribe and Metropolis combination compare to the original.
